Cooking Equipment and Basic Food Items

Baking Equipment, Etc.

Once you are ready to begin the gfcf diet you will need to make an investment in some basic cooking equipment.  Your cooking experience will go a lot easier if you will invest in a few items that are "ready to use" and never cross contaminated with glutens or casein.  Some items are suggested below though in time you will have your own list.

1.  A toaster (dedicated to gfcf breads only) *
2.  Ice cream maker
3.  Kitchen Aid mixer
4.  Muffin pans
5.  Bread pans
6.  Good quality cookie sheets
7.  Food processor
8.  Deep fryer

Some Basic Foods on my shelf:

Stock your kitchen with some basic food items you can use over and over again in many recipes.  This list is just a partial list of suggested items.  You will eventually form your own "basics" list in addition to some fresh fruits, vegetables and meats, poultry, fish, etc.  Here are some of my favorites:

1.
GFCF Flours (pick from the huge variety) *
2.   Corn Meal (can be found at Kroger)
3.   Spices
4.   Stevia (a substitute for sugar/safe for diabetics)
5.   Fleischmann's Light Margarine (can be found at Publix)
6.   Baking Powder
7.   Honey
8.   Rice Milk
9.   Juice (unsweetened)
